East Bengal inch closer to I League title

Kolkata: East Bengal's prolific striker Tolgay Ozbey is looking forward to the I-League game against Salgaocar Sports Club in Goa on Thursday. The Australian believes that a win against the Goan club can get them closer to the title.
After a crucial 3-2 win over Dempo Sports Club at home, East Bengal travel to Goa to face Salgaocar in a tie that may be considered as a title decider. However, mathematically, the other two teams from the top four, Churchill Brothers and Dempo, are very much in the title race.
From this position all that East Bengal have to hope for is a win and nothing other than that, in order to clinch the title. Ozbey seems optimistic about a positive result against Karim Bencherifa's side.
East Bengal inch closer to I League title
"The win against Dempo was a massive success to keep us in front of the title race. They are a very good side and it was important to beat them. It has boosted our confidence for the coming matches," Ozbey told Goal.com.
"We are in a good position as we have more games remaining than the other title contenders expect Dempo and if we win against Salgaocar we will be almost champions. It does not matter whom we play; what matters is a win. No doubt Salgaocar is a good side. They have been very good this season so we need to be focused while playing them," Ozbey remarked with a pinch of warning to his team mates.
After the hot-blooded game against Dempo at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, East Bengal will be without pivotal defenders Uga Okpara and Gurwinder Singh due to suspension. In their absence, Mehrajuddin Waddo and Sunil Kumar are expected to function in the centre back positions. Nirmal Chhetri, who was sent-off as well in the last game, shall miss the important match while coach Trevor Morgan is likely to take a late call on goalkeeper Sandip Nandy who bruised his knee against the defending champions.
"Well, the absence of players in key positions is a bit of a worry. But if you go to see we have two very good players Mehraj and Sunil coming in as replacements for Gurwinder and Okpara. Mehraj and Sunil are no strangers to the game; they have the experience that is required. So, there is nothing much to worry about. Sandip should recover in time but even if he does not, we have Jayanta Paul who is also an extremely talented keeper. So all we need to do is give our best on the field," the 25-year old front man revealed.
When asked whether he is eyeing the highest goal-scorer title in this season’s I-League, he said, "Well, I can't say anything. It's nice to have scored so many goals and scoring some more in the matches to come will be even better. Yes if I become the top scorer it will be a big achievement in my debut season with the East Bengal."

Thenmerku Paruvakatru – Movie Review

Director Seenu Ramasamy has presented a simple story with interesting twists through his latest Tamil offering Thenmerku Paruvakatru. The film tells the story of a widowed woman Veerayi (Saranya), who has brought up her son Murugan (Vijay Sethupathy), a goat herd, alone. The film has a rural background but it is not a typical village story with some ‘lungi’ clad man romancing leading ladies.

Story:
Murugan loves to hang around with his gang of friends and spends time playing pranks. His mother Veerayi wants to get him married with his cousin. He bows down to her mother's wish unwillingly by agreeing to marry her. Meanwhile, goats in the village starts getting vanished through a group of masked thieves. When the thieves try to steal Murugan’s goats, he fights with them along with his friends. But, they fail to stop them. However, Murugan discovers a young girl's face from their group.

A curious Murugan searches for the young lady in the neighbouring villages and finds a girl named Pechi (Vasundhra). He also finds that she cooks midday meals at a village school and during night, she joins them. He also came to know that she does all these thefts to support her family.
she does all these to support her family, she cooks midday meal at a village school and during night, she joins tem. They sell meat of the goat and earn money from it.

Later, Murugan falls in love with her but her family is worried about their security so they try to kill him. During one attempt, he survives and they are arrested by the police. Pechi’s family is now deadly against him, while she starts feeling for him. On the other hand, Murugan’s mother is very angry with him for breaking his promise and trying to marry a girl, who is a thief. What happens next should be seen on-screen.

The director has relied on some fresh faces for the lead roles.Vijay Sethupathy and Vasundhra have done justice to their roles. But Saranya steals the show by her extraordinary performance. Theepetti Ganeshan's comedy is good and other characters are okay.

Verdict: Don’t miss this wonderful film.

Director: Seenu Ramasaamy
Cast: Vijay Sethupathy, Aruldas, Stills Kumar, Saranya, Vasundhra, Kadhal Sukumar, Kambam Guna, Theepetti Ganeshan.
Music: N. R. Rahnandan.

Book Review: 'While Mortals Sleep'

"While Mortals Sleep" by Kurt Vonnegut.
The publication of “While Mortals Sleep,” a posthumous volume of short stories by Kurt Vonnegut, reminds us of how much we lost when he died in 2007.
In the introduction, writer Dave Eggers remarks about the loss of “a moral voice ... a very reasonable and credible—though not to say staid or toothless—who helped us know how to live.”
Possession of this type of voice is certainly one of the chief aims of literature. And who is not brought up short and found wanting when this lovable curmudgeon—Vonnegut himself—admonishes us, “Goddamnit, you’ve got to be kind.”
These stories were written in the beginning of his career and none of them have been previously published. They were written to sell, even if they didn’t. Vonnegut was desperately trying to leave his job as a PR man for General Electric when he wrote them as the great short story markets, such as Colliers and The Saturday Evening Post paid very well.
It is difficult to see why these shorts weren’t published, since, though they are surely minor Vonnegut, they are wonderfully readable and thought-provoking. Each of them bears the Vonnegut stamp and one cannot imagine them written by anyone else, even though he didn’t touch on any of his great themes: the sheer madness of humankind, the horror of war, his disgust with civilization.
Most of the stories are so good that they could serve as an introduction to Vonnegut for those who have never read him. And for those who are fans, they are a very welcome addition to the canon.
Most of these shorts have a surprise ending, which Mr. Eggers calls “mousetrap stories.” They lure us into their simple world and then come crashing down with the real nature of the enterprise, owing a debt to the stories of O. Henry and Saki.
In the title story, a crusty newspaper editor who loathes Christmas is forced by his publisher to be a judge in a contest for who has the most beautifully decorated house in the city. In the process, he gets a glimpse of the real meaning of Christmas.
In “Jenny,” a technical wizard and traveling salesman has built a refrigerator that he has fallen in love with. It moves and dances and speaks in the voice of his ex-wife. Jenny is an idealized version of his ex, who has since changed and is seriously ill. Since he cannot face the real woman in her hour of need, the refrigerator serves as her proxy.
“The Epizootic” is a story about how great numbers of the population are committing suicide in order that their families can collect life insurance. They are, in the Vonnegut-esque phrase, “dying for a living.” In “The Humbugs” an abstract and a representational painter try to paint in each other’s styles in order to show how easy it is. Neither is capable of doing what they said they could do with ease.
In “Ruth” the title character is a pregnant war widow who introduces herself to her deeply disturbed mother-in-law, who is resolved to take from Ruth the baby—the only living connection to her dead son. The ending is so abrupt and moving that I will leave it up to you to read the story.
Some critics have dismissed these stories by saying that they were unpublished for a reason. But, in my opinion, that would be a mistake. They are, in fact, a small treasure-trove of immense value.
In these stories, Vonnegut’s inventiveness and his vision are irreplaceable. They remind us of the phrase by his son, Mark, who said, “We are here to help each other through this thing, whatever it is.”
“While Mortals Sleep” is illustrated with drawings by Kurt Vonnegut. Though the images are totally unrelated to the stories, they are, in their own way as entertaining and darkly funny as his fiction. My recommendation for this book: buy it, read it and enjoy it.
"While Mortals Sleep," was published by Delacourt Press.

Eamcet on May 22 amidst tight security

HYDERABAD: Eamcet-2011 for admissions into engineering and medical colleges will be held amidst tight security on May 22. Officials decided to beef up security at all entrance examination centres in the state since a gang indulging in largescale malpractice was busted last year.
At a media conference held in the city, Eamcet officials said that cellphone jammers will be installed at all the problematic centres in the state, including the ones in Kurnool, Kadapa and Tirupati. Students will be frisked before entering the examination centres. If found with any electronic device of data transfer, including cellphones and pagers, candidates will be disqualified.
In the previous year (Eamcet-2010), several students, who had registered for the medical stream of the examination, had carried bluetooth enabled cellphones to get "experts" dictate them answers from outside. A gang of medical students were arrested for organising the crime.
This year, the Eamcet authorities will also collect the thumb impression of candidates who appear for the examination to prevent incidences of impersonation. The JNTU authorities have also employed special observers to check on candidates writing the examination. Police personnel at examination centres will be doubled this year. Even district collectors will employ a team of officials to carry out random checks at examination centres.
JNTU officials said that security is being beefed up as per the instructions of the state government and AP State Council of Higher Education ( APSCHE).
The officials also said that students, who have been repeating the medical stream test for the past few years, are now under police scanner. "There are 12,247 students who are currently writing the examination year after year. The police have their biodata. This, however, will not lead to any sort of inconvenience to genuine students," said D N Reddy, vice-chancellor, JNTU and chairman, Eamcet committee. He said that students have the right to repeat the test as there is no upper age limit for medical entrance examination.
JNTU authorities said that this year a total of 2.78 lakh students will appear for the examination under engineering stream. For medical stream, 68,518 students have registered.
"Every student applying for Eamcet engineering stream would get a seat as there are about 2.8 lakh seats in colleges in the state. We are expecting a sanction of more seats from AICTE," said D N Reddy.
Eamcet officials said that the first key to Eamcet question paper will be released four days after the exam is conducted. Eamcet results (marks) will be announced within 15 days of the exam. Eamcet ranks will be announced in the first week of July.

Bajaj plans to launch Duke 125 by December 2011

Bajaj Auto is gearing up for the launch of the Duke 125 by December this year. The bike which is being manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant is currently being exported to other markets. Come December, the bike will be available in India as well. The 125 cc bike has been developed as a collaboration with Austrian bike maker, KTM. Bajaj Auto owns almost 36 percent stake in the Austrian firm and is looking at products including a 200 cc bike for India.
“Duke is 90 per cent localized. We have exported 1,700-1,800 Duke bikes so far to Austria and some European countries. The set target of supplying the bikes to KTM during the FY12 is 11,000.”
The KTM Duke 125 has a 15 bhp four stroke engine and is solely manufactured for exports at the moment. Bajaj also plans to export the Pulsar and Discover to markets in Brazil depending upon the how the customers respond to the Duke 125. 1700-1800 units of the KTM Duke bike have been exported to Austria and other European countries untill now. Bajaj also plans to expand to Brazil which will include setting up dealerships in the South American country.

In addition to expansion plans overseas, Bajaj is also strengthening its hold over the local market here in India. Targeting the rural sector is of priority at the moment and hence the company has brought out the new Boxer which has been tweaked taking in consideration the needs of the people in rural India. The Boxer will now have a 150 cc engine and would be completely focused at semi-urban areas of the country. The new Boxer is expected to be launched by September this year.
“We plan to launch a modified Boxer bike which is specially designed for semi-urban and rural markets by September this year. The bike with 150cc engine will have its complete focus on rural market. It is a product for Bharat and not for India”
Now, a 200 cc Duke is also rumoured along with the 125 cc bike. The 200 cc version could have close to 20 bhp on tap from a four stroke, liquid cooled, DOHC with four valves. The bike could be priced in the premium end of the segment above the Pulsar and will rival the Honda CBR250R. Bajaj is also mulling a powerful version of the Pulsar that will priced in the under Rs 1.2 lakh bracket thus taking the fight right up Honda’s doorstep.

Passport Seva

Passport Seva: As many as 77 Passport Seva Project (PSP) centres and 15 mini Passport Seva Kendras (PSKS) will be opened across the country in a phased manner, said K J Srinivasa, Regional Passport Officer, Bangalore.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Srinivasa said action was taken after PSP, which was started on a pilot basis in May 2010, got the approval from Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC).
“As far as the IT city is concerned, RPO [Regional Passport Office] in association with TCS is out with a number of action plans to reduce the rush and speed up the process ,” he said.
He said the number of people who were applying for passport every day is increasing. “There is a sudden increase in the demand for passport across Karnataka in the past few months and appointments were being made available in a delayed manner. To provide faster appointment to citizens, RPO Bangalore, in conjunction with TCS, has launched an appointmenthandling drive. The action plan that has been drawn, will result in opening of 30 per cent additional appointment slots daily,” he said.
He further informed that additional slots would be given for emergency and VIP cases. Moreover, tatkal passports will now be issued in one day. Also, Srinivasa said now only hard copies of the passport application would be submitted at RPO Bangalore on a first-come-first-serve basis. The passport applications will not be accepted through Speed Post Passport Application Collection Centres as many applications through this channel lacked all the documents, causing delay in processing passport. “The applications received through this [Speed Post] system did not involve the gathering of biometric information that forms a vital component of the system,” he added.

Passport Office to outsource front-end operations

The front-end operations at the Coimbatore Passport Office are likely to be outsourced as part of the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) project and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is all set to handle the front-end operations from the last week of June. Union Ministry of External Affairs has already implemented the PSK project in Bangalore and Chandigarh and in the second phase Tiruchirapalli and Coimbatore are all set to get this initiative through.
According to sources in the passport office, TCS would receive applicants, guide them and handle the process for submission of applications. However, verification of the completeness of the application form and the documents attached therein would be scrutinised by a team from the passport office led by an Assistant Passport Officer (who will head the front-end operations).
The sources said TCS would be in charge of receiving applications and guiding applicants, technical support and maintenance of the premises, while sensitive areas would continue to be handled by the passport office staff. The PSK initiative would bring in the much-required concept of “one-day visit to the passport office”, as the officials would tell the applicants the same evening as to whether their passport application forms and the supporting documents were in order and whether the passport would be issued or not. This would eliminate the anxious wait by the applicants.
Under the new system, photographs need not be affixed, image of the applicant’s face will be captured at the time of applying online as is done in the driving licence process. In addition, the new system will involve taking the finger print (bio-metric) of the applicant and incorporating it in the database. Only if the finger print tallies, the applicant will be able to apply for other services such as spouse entry, address change or renewal of passport.
The added feature is that every police district will have access to the passport server for downloading the personal particular form online and to send the police verification reports online. This will obviate postal delay and laborious paper work. This will also ensure speedy completion of procedures which are time-cosuming at present. Even passport issuance will be modernised with digital signature, sources added. The place for these front-end operations has not yet been finalised. The new system will put in place a first-in and first-out concept, eliminating the practice of issuing passports out-of-turn.

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Minissha Lamba was detained for several hours at Mumbai airport on Wednesday as she flew in from the Cannes Film Festival. She was being held for carrying undeclared jewellery, which the Air Intelligence Unit claimed was worth Rs 50 lakh.

Lamba was in Cannes to attend the premier of Woody Allen's film, 'Midnight in Paris' and had been invited by the filmmakers, an officer said. As soon as Lamba landed in India, she was detained by the AIU sleuths for trying to clear customs without declaring the jewellery.

Sources close to Lamba said she was carrying diamond ornaments given to her by jewellery brands. But customs officials insisted she should have declared the consignment.

A senior customs officer told TOI Lamba had not declared any jewellery when she flew out. ''She was supposed to notify it to the customs department,'' the officer said.

People close to the actress said she has all the required papers. ''The jewellery has been given by one of the jewellery brands so it could be showcased when Lamba walked the red carpet for Woody Allen's film premier,'' a source said.

It is unlawful to carry currency worth $5,000 without RBI permission.

New Proven Wealth Management Strategies

Have you been using a “professional” money manager or financial planner for your wealth management and investment purposes? How has that been working for you?  How have you done with your 401K or your 403B or IRA?  How about that mutual fund or long term stock market investing that your “professional” has been doing for you over the last 10 years? If you broke even over the last 10 years, you are incredibly lucky!
Millions of hard working individuals and families are now unable to retire or live the life they have worked so hard to try to create for themselves thanks to old investment methods and wealth creation strategies that are still being forced on people today by investment companies and wealth management companies.
STOP GIVING YOUR Hard Earned MONEY AWAY! Discover the true experts that can help you every step of the way to SHOW YOU how to manage and make decisions about your own money and your own future.  If you have not figured it out, yet, NOBODY cares about you or your money and future as much as you do!
Proven Money Management Strategies:
1)  Educate yourself on the truth about your economy and the global economy and how it WILL effect you. Do not use the mass media such as newspapers, news stations, CNN, FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.  Most information you see or hear in the mass media is edited so many times BEFORE you hear or see it that the information is NOT accurate by the time it gets to you.  The news is also biased towards political parties, the Federal Reserve and the government’s best interest.  If you use this information to determine what is best for your future, you will be part of the 95% that lose everything they have worked their whole life to achieve.
2) Find REAL experts with at least a 15 – 20 year PROVEN track record of accuracy and success in their unbiased field of expertise. The people you see on TV, especially on talk shows trying to sale book or programs for themselves, are NOT experts!  These people are celebrities that know very little to nothing about real money management and investment strategies.
3) Create your very own trusted personal and financial mastermind group of REAL experts that you can go to any time to help you make informed decisions about your money and your future that do not charge you an arm and a leg to use and have NO hidden charges! Very few money managers are successful at creating any amount of income for their clients and the ones that are successful charge so much that it does their clients no good to use them.
Use these 3 steps and YOU can discover that it is not hard to take complete control of your own personal and financial future by managing your own hard earned income instead of giving your money to strangers that call themselves “experts”.
Read more articles on Basic Financial Knowledge and Wealth Creation Strategies so YOU can discover the REAL experts, the truth about your economy, and manage and take COMPLETE CONTROL of your own personal and financial well-being!   If you are SERIOUS about discovering how to create your own personal and financial mastermind group of REAL experts, so you can manage your own money and your own future, go download your copy of the FREE “Recession Proof Business Plan” and download the FREE report!

Mansour Bahrami, Professional Tennis Entertainer Videos

Mansour Bahrami tennis israel 300x193 Mansour Bahrami, Professional Tennis Entertainer Videos
Mansour Bahrami (born April 26, 1956) is a professional tennis player. He has double dual French and Iranian nationality since 1989.

Senior Tournaments Mansour Bahrami

Bahrami did not become a famous during his days on the main ATP Tour but enough of his fellow players had seen his talent at first hand to be impressed. He was perhaps the only player in history to be paid a guarantee just to enter the qualifying tournament for ATP tournaments. However, when the Champions Tour was set up for players aged over 35 in 1993, he had found his niche. Over time, the matches that he played with the likes of Jimmy Connors, Björn Borg and John McEnroe ensured that he achieved star status in his own right. Bahrami also formed a memorable doubles partnership with former French Open finalist and Davis Cup winner Henri Leconte as well as former French Open champion Yannick Noah. His best achievement in the senior tour so far was winning the ATP Champions Tour event in Doha, Qatar.
Bahrami had always been an entertainer but his attitude fitted perfectly with the aims of the Outback Champions Tour where giving the public a show was essential. He continues to travel for 40 weeks of the year playing exhibition tournaments in which his range of unusual and breathtaking shots are played. His speciality shots include the power shot through the legs, the lob through the legs and the drop shot which bounces back over the net due to excessive backspin. His sense of humour shines through all of his matches and the crowd are never sure of his latest move, be it serving whilst holding six balls (although he is known to hold 21), an under arm serve, catching the ball in his pocket, deliberately missing a smash or playing an imaginary, slow-motion point.
Fame came to Bahrami over time to the extent that he has now played within all of the major tennis venues throughout the world, something he could not do early in his career while on the regular tour, including the show courts at Wimbledon and the French Open.
