'Aadaminte Makan Abu' wins National Award for best film

New Delhi:  The 58th National Awards were announced on Thursday. Malayalam movie Aadaminte Makan Abu won the best film award, Salim Kumar won the best actor award for the same film.

  • Tamil actor Dhanush is sharing the best actor award with Salim Kumar. Dhanush won the award for his performance in Aadukalam.

  • Vetrimaran has won the best director award for Aadukalam

  • Marathi actress Mitalee Jagtap Paradhar and Tamil cinema's Saranya won the National Award for best actress for their performances in the movies Baboo Band Baaja and Thenmerku Paruvakkaatru respectively

  • Hindi movie Dabangg is selected as the Best Wholesome Entertainer of the year.

  • Leaving Home (Indian Ocean Film) has won National Film Award for Best Art and Culture Film .

  • Kannada movie Hejjegalu has won the best children's film award.

  • Vishal Bharadwaj has won the best music director award for Ishqiya.

  • Rekha Bharadwaj wins the best playback singer award for Ishqiya.. 

  • Thomas Kottukapally and Vairamuthu win the best lyricist award.

  • Suresh Wadkar wins best playback singer (male) award.

  • Do Dooni Chaar is the best Hindi feature film.

  • Madhu Ambattu has won best cenematographer award for Adaminte Makan Abu.

  • Sukumari gets  the best Supporting Actor award (female) for her role in Tamil movie  Nammma Gramama

  • Thambi Ramaiah wins Best Supporting Actor award (male) for Tamil film Mynaa

  • Champions is the best film on social issues.

  • Sabu Cyril gets award for Production Design for the film Enthiran

  • Best Sound Designer Award goes to Vipin Vijay for Chitrasootram

  • K R Manoj's 'A Pestering Journey' on Endosulfan victims is the Best Investigative Film

  • Sanjay Pawar wins award for best dialogue.

  • Baboo Baand Baaja wins the best debut award.


  • Best audiography location -  Kamod Karade (Ishqiya); Best re-recordist of final mixed track - Debajit Changmai (Ishqiya)
